Nurcholish Madjid
Nurcholish Madjid or Cak Nur is an icon of thought and renewal of Islam movement in Indonesia. The idea of pluralism has been placed as a leading Muslim intellectual, especially at a time when Indonesia was mired in a slump and the threat of national disintegration. Nurcholish Madjid born March 17, 1939 in Jombang, Est Java Indonesia. Died August 29, 2005.
